What we do

“Coming to Archway means that for the first time in my life I feel I belong. People here genuinely care about what happens to me.”
- Archway Friend

Through a variety of carefully organised activities, we support and befriend those experiencing loneliness and isolation. Archway...

  • provides a sense of belonging for those who feel unwanted, excluded and forgotten by society
  • offers the opportunity to make friends and meet people in a supportive environment
  • helps people to regain social confidence and contribute to society
  • works within a framework of Christian values and service that recognizes that everyone is worthy of respect and acceptance

Our services

Social events

Archway offers social evenings and a weekly drop-in cafe. Social gatherings with a supportive, understanding and friendly environment help people to gain confidence being around people. Just knowing other people struggle with loneliness too can sometimes bring relief and help you not to feel so isolated.

Befriending
For those who find it difficult to get out to meet people for whatever reason, we do have a befriending service. Befriending is in great demand and our limited resources are allocated according to need.

> For more details about befriending, please contact us

Group outings
Archway also arranges occasional group outings to a range of destinations. Group outings are open to those who already attend our social events or have a befriender.
